A check anyone can repeat

How a listing is made

The process starts with the regulator’s record. Promotional copy, star ratings and anonymous reviews come later—if they are useful at all.

Methodology version 1.1 · Updated 14 October 2026

First, find the legal business

A brand name is not enough. The UK Gambling Commission register is searched by brand and domain until the customer-facing website can be tied to a legal entity. The account reference and trading name are then recorded on our page.

Then, read the licence record

The relevant remote casino activity must be shown as current. Some brands sit under more than one licensed business, which is why bet365 has two account references in our listing. We show that detail instead of compressing it into a generic “licensed” badge.

Match the exact destination

Before publication, the button URL is compared with the domains declared in the register. The link in our HTML points to that operator domain directly. No shortened address, internal redirect page, click tracker or crawler-specific route sits in between.

Separate facts from judgement

Legal names, account numbers, domains and review dates can be sourced. Claims such as “fastest payouts” or “best odds” require different evidence and can quickly become stale. They are not included simply because they are common on comparison sites.

Check the safety path

Age restrictions and independent support should be easy to find before a visitor reaches an operator. That is why the 18+ warning, National Gambling Helpline and safer-gambling page remain visible throughout this site rather than appearing only in a disclaimer.

Revisit the record

Licence and domain status should be checked at least monthly and again before a paid campaign is launched. A destination is removed if the relevant record can no longer be verified.

Commercial relationships

The current buttons are direct, untagged operator URLs. If commission-generating links are added later, the affected links and disclosure will be updated before they go live. Payment cannot alter a licence record or purchase a favourable factual finding.
